Principal's Message

A very special Thank You to the dynamic duo of Sarah Lombardo and Pepe Verde for their support and coordination of the play “Shrek Jr.” last week. Sarah and Pepe worked tirelessly in the weeks leading up to the play, and every day and evening for all three play casts! Our students are very grateful for the support from our P.T.A. for making the play happen! Thank you to our P.T.A. president, Jocelyn Birrell for her leadership this year with the transition of our play to a partnership with Town Hall Theater under the direction of Madison Gerringer.

Open House will be held on Thursday evening for all 2nd-5th grade students. Classrooms will be open from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The LPIE Art Fair will also be taking place for all students on Thursday evening from 5:30-8:00pm.

On Friday we will be holding our second annual Coach Coco Field Day from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for all 1st-5th grade students. This day give students an opportunity to team with students of all grade levels in creative games with a non-competitive spirit lead by teachers and our student leaders. A special thank you to Nancy Belliveau, one of our retired teachers, for her passion and dedication to making this day happen. Our student leadership team, SPOT, and our staff advisors, Emma Carella and Vanessa Olona have also played a tremendous role in the planning and organization of the day.

If for some reason, your family will be leaving Lafayette Elementary School at the end of this school year, please let the office staff know so that we can plan accordingly.

And finally… just wouldn’t be right to end my note without a comment about the parking lot! Thank you for bearing with us as construction has begun on the new classroom buildings which has impacted the already limited parking in our front lot. Additional parking is available along School Street and opposite of the school on Moraga Rd.

All the best during these last weeks of school!
