Principal Message

Last week, I had the opportunity to go and visit students in Mr. Moe and Mrs. Olona’s 5th grade classes at Camp Loma Mar. Yesterday we waved goodbye to Ms. Carella’s class as they headed to camp. While it is a bittersweet time as we send our 5th graders off to camp, it is so special to see the students hop off the bus on Friday afternoon into the arms of waiting families with new found confidence, knowledge and smiles!

Thank you to our Earth Week chairs Angela Ristow and Jenn Brown for all of their efforts to organize a great week filled with meaningful activities. A very special thank you to all those who helped with Campus Clean Up Day last Sunday…...Our campus looks wonderful!

As we move toward the end of the school year, there has been an increase in the number of students who have needed a visit to the office to discuss behavior. Students often need to be reminded about kindness and respect towards others.  The next time you have an opportunity for a family conversation about behavior, here are some ideas to discuss.

  • Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
  • Respect all students and adults on campus.
  • Before you speak...THINK.
  • T: Is it True?
  • H: Is it Helpful?
  • I: Is it Inspiring?
  • N: Is it Necessary?
  • K: Is it Kind?
  • Speak up if you see or hear something that you know is not acceptable Leopard behavior

As always….thank you for your continued support and for sharing your children with us!

Best,

Ann Kim
